What is NEONORDIC®?
NEONORDIC® is a protective membrane of Scandinavian quality, inspired by the Scandinavian climate where functionality is essential. Besides protection against wind and water, garments must also offer high comfort and freedom of movement. Traditionally, it was difficult to combine high protection with excellent breathability. With the advent of NEONORDIC®, this has changed for good.
How does it work?
NEONORDIC® is laminated with an advanced homogeneous hydrophilic membrane. NEONORDIC® 200 offers the highest level of waterproofing, breathability and wearing comfort. By responding to your body’s activity, this clever membrane allows water vapour to breathe easily through it. NEONORDIC® 200 has superior breathability, 20,000 grams of air per m2, per 24 hours.
NEONORDIC® 200 products have a water column of 20,000 mm. The water column is a column 10 cm in diameter, 20,000 mm high. The membrane resists the water pressure created when you fill this column with water. A water column of 20,000 is very far above the minimum level required for a fabric to be considered waterproof.
NEONORDIC® 200 protects you from water and wind, but allows the water vapour created by perspiration to evaporate, keeping you dry and comfortable. NEONORDIC® is exceptionally flexible and hard-wearing. This makes it ideal for a wide range of garments, whether they need to be light and thin or strong and robust.
Where and how is the material made?
To ensure the high quality of the membrane, we work closely with manufacturers and closely monitor production. The material is produced in a certified factory in South Korea, which has worked closely with Swedteam in testing and development to create the ultimate material. The garments are manufactured in the high-tech city of Nanjing in China, by a partner specially selected by SWEDTEAM. This is highly experienced in producing garments for the Nordic climate that meet the specific needs and size requirements.
