Revolutionary pixel patterns that break your body shape
Camouflage itself is about so much more than mimicking the patterns and colours of the environment. The problem with many existing camouflage products is that the contrasts are too low. From a distance, the pattern melts into a single colour, a large area, making you visible to the animal.
DESOLVE® is inspired by how animals camouflage themselves against each other, such as tigers and leopards. The colours resemble the environment they live in, Instead of having camouflage of twigs and leaves on the body, as is the most common way of camouflage, the animal patterns in black form a stark contrast to the main colour of the fur. Using these patterns breaks up the body shape and makes them invisible to their prey.
DESOLVE® works in a similar way. The colours in the pattern correspond to the area in which you hunt, but in addition, the main function of the pattern is to camouflage your human form, making you blend into the environment, so to speak. DESOLVE® uses a unique pixel pattern in which alternating small and large pixels form high-contrast colours that camouflage body shapes making you invisible at any distance.
Animal vision compared to human vision
The human eye captures colours through receptors on the retina. Those receptors are also called cones and rods. Colour vision is the ability of being able to perceive the differences in the wavelength of light. Because the cones have different lengths, each has a different light-sensitive pigment that enables humans to perceive different colours. Most mammals have only two types of cones, making animals virtually unable to see colours. Deer are known to have blurred vision, but are able to distinguish between light and dark greens. They see most of their surroundings in 2D, as a flat mass of colours, so to speak. Animals cannot perceive reddish colours. This is also why neon camouflage is a good solution if humans want to be invisible to animals, but still be able to see fellow humans.
